We are burning at work, or how to increase productivity
Without a doubt, each of us would like his working day to be as productive as possible, and the efforts expended on doing this or that work were not wasted in vain, but benefited the company-employer or our own business. But how to achieve this? After all, we often feel that we work at half strength and irrationally use at the same time working time. As a result, the list of scheduled cases and outstanding tasks is only increasing.
First of all, do not panic or give up at the sight of the accumulated work that you will have to do in one way or another. You can always find a way out. So, to adequately cope with this situation, you can adopt the following recommendations:
1. Start with the smallest.
The first trick on the way to increasing work productivity is to get rid of those cases that seem absolutely unimportant and not urgent, as well as easy to perform and, therefore, require very little energy and time costs as quickly as possible. It is necessary to avoid the tendency to postpone this kind of business until later as the least significant, otherwise they will simply begin to accumulate in large quantities.
2. Highlight what is most important today.
Undoubtedly, the implementation of major projects and the solution of serious problems require a lot of time and effort. And therefore it is quite logical that in order to successfully cope with them, it is advisable to make every day a bit of effort, which will work step by step for the final result. Thus, in your daily work you should always set yourself a course for the effective implementation of the task that is of decisive importance at this stage and will significantly affect the final result of your activity.
3. Choose the simplest.
This way of increasing the efficiency of one’s own work echoes the already mentioned recommendation to start with the most insignificant in order to successfully cope with existing affairs. The insignificant difference consists only in the fact that this advice is focused more on the successful implementation of a large business project and assumes the existence of a so-called list of tasks to be carried out.
4. Dose tasks.
To begin with, divide the tasks to be performed into subtasks, and then set deadlines for each of them, thus avoiding physical and mental overloads and delay in providing the final result. Through this self-organization, you can achieve more.
5. Do not be afraid to ask for help.
If you ask for help, it does not mean that you are so incompetent that you cannot do the job yourself. On the contrary, a request for help is a sensible act that will save you from the mistakes made in this field earlier and, thereby, will save your precious time. In addition, many of your colleagues will willingly come to the rescue to contribute to the common cause.
6. Do everything with pleasure.
If you strive to achieve high results and maximum productivity in the workplace, learn to energetically start doing any work, and even fulfilling those tasks that do not bring any pleasure. Take such matters for granted, do not try to postpone them indefinitely or pass them on to someone else.
And most importantly, remember, nothing is impossible in daily work as efficiently and productively as possible. And we should start by fulfilling in a timely and efficient manner the minimum that is required of you.
